The Importance of Configuration
Configuration is the way a system’s settings are set during the initial set-up phase of software/hardware and also the on-going maintenance and updating of the system’s settings.
It is a HUGELY important task. It can be daunting for some. It can be tolerable but boring for others. And, for yet others, it can be the absolute first place one wants to go to when setting something up! A magical place where one wants to become deeply intimate with each and every setting and how it effects other aspects of the system!

The average users knowledge of configuration of different systems can be summed up like this:
EVERYONE has a smartphone (many an iPhone model, even). Yet VERY FEW are knowledgeable enough to move around their own system (in this case, their very own device!) with any grace, let alone the depth of a ninja gracefully swapping between the options of the core system and the systems different applications built on top.
So now let’s just imagine the same average users approach to the settings and configuration of other systems. Of which are beyond nuermerous as every system seems to have its own configuration implementation.
Yet for some people, configuration is a lifestyle.
What are the things that I can do? What options are available? Cause and effect. If I do this, what will this do? What will happen if I do that? Knowing how to “break” things and then ”fix” it. I put that in quotes because much of this magic…the substance of these network arts is in the mindset of the individual. They were built this way or not. Built for this. It’s a lifestyle.
